I am trying to build a 22ft. by 9 ft. two level layout with Mountains, Towns, Industry and Yards. I have had 4 major layouts befor this. My first was a 4 by 8 in the garage after Lynda bought me a HO Bachman train set in 1979. The second was a 4 by 14 foot in the basement of our hous in Eau Claire. It had a helex and some high bridges. Then there was the layout in the basement of our Pipe Lake home. It was a duck under that was circlular 12 by 12. I got trains running on two levels then the shop was built.
My 4th layout was the basement train moved to the second floor of the shop. That was a duck under but was 14 ft. by 12 ft. It had a wild double loop to a mountain pass and the beginings of a yard. I had slow motion switch machines and Digitrax DCC.
These are some pictures of my 4th Train in the upstairs of the shop.
Next is my current iteration.
